Answer. Alcohol poisoning occurs when someone consumes a toxic level of alcohol, usually in a short time. The poisoning can be acute or chronic. Different kind of alcohol like ethanol, methanol, isopropyl alcohol etc. can lead to alcohol poisoning. They have been discussed in detail here.
